The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics – University of Houston Chapter
Building B will now have exhibits from the University of Houston AIAA
They will have displays of large rockets, drones R/C aircraft and several other items. They will also launch one or two rockets during the event.
Balloon Launches will be taking place, time dependant on wind etc
12:00 Saturday Fox Hunt by SETAC in the Midway area

Details
1. HOA Restricted Antennas — Terry Leatherland – K5PGF
Abstract: Having trouble erecting an effiecient antenna on your HOA restricted property? Terry K5PGF will present a few options for those antennas that he has used over the years.
Bio: Terry Leatherland – K5PGF – I’ve been a HAM since I was 14 in Columbus, Ga. I go by K5 Pretty Good Fellow. I was the youngest HAM in Ga. at the time. Formerly WB4PGF. Moved to Houston after college for a 25 yr career with HP. Work for IBM today as a US wide Systems Engineer. Current rig count is a Yeasu FTDX10 + SPE Expert 1.3KFA Solid State Amplifier. Two HF antennas. Full Wave 40M Loop up 20′ + B&W all Band Folded Dipole 20′ up in trees. Fishing is the other hobby. I do HAM stuff about 3 hours per week.
2. Simple Antenna modelling using MMANA GAL – Stephen Flowers – W2WFAntenna Modeling
Abstract: A how-to presentation on the modeling software MMANA-GAL. How to setup a vertical antenna model in under 5 minutes. Let’s model a simple dipole antenna and let’s model an End Fed HalfWave (EFHW) antenna! You’ll be amazed at the insights that we Hams can get from simple modeling of our antennas!
3. Off Grid Solar Power for Ham Radio – Bill Crowell — N4HPG
Abstract: Practical lessons learned having operated radio equipment for 7+ years with off-grid energy storage and solar power.
Bio: Bill has been a life-long hobbyist and electronics experimenter. First licensed in 1982, Bill has been active in emergency communications and backup power systems.
4. Digital Modes via Amateur Satellites – How to work Satellites without the need for full duplex radios – Walter Holmes – K5WH
Abstract: Using Digital modes like FT4, FreeDV Digital Voice, and Packet-Radio-Greencube (IO-117) for weak signal operations, little power required, all using omni or directional antennas. Radios that support VHF/UHF SSB is required though.
Bio: Walter Holmes has been a ham for about 47 years, with a passion for helping others get active on the many different modes of Amateur Radio, and a heavy lean for the digital world. With a 24hr Zoom room full of hams and mentors from around the world, providing assistance on any aspect of the hobby.
5. West Gulf Director talks about the current ARRL policies and activities– John Stratton – N5AUS – West Gulf Director ARRL
6. Kit Building —COMING SOON
